U10's host New Tredegar

After a week break for half term the boys were at home to Senghenydd and New Tredegar. The first match was against New Tredegar. 

The Dale won the toss and started the game, the ball was being passed between the team and advancing to the try line.  A knock on gave New Tredegar a scrum, they were unable to use the possession with Gabriel Jones picking up a loose ball and dodging a few defenders, he passed to Max Rossiter who took the ball further into the visitors half.  Another knock on gave New Tredegar a scrum on their line, they kicked the ball to gain them ground, it was chased down by Gabriel Jones, he passed to Logan Taylor and onto Max Rossiter to score the first try of the day, 1-0.  New Tredegar restart and quickly advance into the hosts half but unfortunately stepped into touch.  The Dale passed the ball to William Morgan, the visitors grabbed him but he broke free and sped to the try line, 2-0.  The Dale quickly gained possession, Gabriel Jones and Zac Tucker had good runs.  A stud to the knee saw Hudson Mathias take a rest and was replaced by Thomas Gregory.  William Davey found himself yards short of the try line, the ball was passed to Thomas Gregory to complete the try, 3-0.  A dropped ball was picked up by Oakdale, Gabriel Jones had another good run before passing to Thomas Gregory to score, 4-0.  New Tredegar restart, this time it was Max Rossiter who saw the loose ball, he scooped it up and passed to Zac Tucker who ran half the length of the pitch to score, 5-0.  New Tredegar restart and drop the ball, they kick it up the pitch in the hope to chase it but Logan Taylor was there first, he picked it up and had a great run, he passed to Oliver Cooke to score the try, 6-0.  Again the Dale claimed the ball, it was passed to Jordan Way who stormed to the try line to claim the last try of the half, 7-0.

Oakdale 7 – New Tredegar 0

New Tredegar started the second half, turnover ball gave William Davey the opportunity to use his pace to start the second half scoring, 8-0.  Max Rossiter claimed the ball from the tackle, he dragged a player to the try line with him, a few other players joined the tackle and won the ball, in an attempt to gain ground they kicked the ball, it went into touch.  The Dale restarted and Gabriel Jones had a good run to score his first try since joining the Dale, 9-0.  New Tredegar go through a good few phases of play before a knock on awards the Dale the scrum.  William Davey took the ball from the back of the scrum and sped towards the try line to score, 10-0. Possession passed back and fore between the teams New Tredegar showed great determination and team work to penetrate the defence and put themselves on the board, 10-1.  The Dale restarted, Zac Tucker had a good run passing to William Davey and onto Max Rossiter to claim the try, 11-1.   New Tredegar looked like they were scoring their second try before Thomas Gregory came in for the tackle, Zac Tucker ran three quarters the length of the pitch and left the defence in his wake to score, 12-1.  New Tredegar restarted and Max Rossiter claimed the ball from the ruck, he passed to William Davey who claimed his hat trick. 13-1. The visitors showed great spirit and were not giving up, they advanced to the try line and kept attacking until they found the try line, 13-2.  The Dale restarted and passed back to Kian Godwin, head down he ran straight through the defence to take the last try of the game, 14-2.
