Fixture

The Dale made their way up to a sunny Ebbw Vale, it was great to see supporters with sun glasses instead of umbrellas!  There were two games for the U10’s, the first of which was against RTB Ebbw Vale.

The Dale won the toss and started the game, RTB intercepted a pass and started the scoring.  We saw some good phases of play from Oakdale but they were up against a well drilled RTB and the Dale found themselves 4-0 down.  The Dale retained their composure and determination, RTB intercepted a pass but was driven into touch by Thomas Gregory.  Hudson Mathias took the ball, an excellent offload found William Davey on the wing, he steamed down the touch line to secure the try, 4-1.  RTB responded with a quick try, 5-1.  RTB picked up the ball from the ruck area, Gabriel Jones intercepted and was heading to the try line but was brought back for offside.  Dale kept the pressure on and was awarded a penalty in the 22.  Oliver Cooke kicked the ball down field and gained some ground, it was chased down and picked up by Thomas, a knock on awarded the scrum to RTB.  It was the hosts that this time kicked the ball, it was caught by Thomas Gregory, he passed to Gabriel Jones who crossed the line to score, 5-2.  RTB restarted and an excellent tackle by Logan Taylor took the hosts into touch.  Oliver made good ground before passing to Gabriel Jones, he was tackled on the whistle.

RTB restarted the second half with a try, 6-2.  The Dale restarted and were attacking, good runs by Oliver, James and Jordan took us near the try line.  James Williams was tackled within a meter of the try line, the team maintained their composure and passed the ball out wide, Thomas Gregory was tackled just short of the try line, RTB won the ball, their quick winger was heading to the try line quickly followed by Thomas using the touch line to win possession.  Gabriel Jones kicked the ball, RTB caught the ball and scored a try, 7-2.  Hudson Mathias took the Dale well into the hosts half, the Dale continued the pressure until Thomas Gregory scored, 7-3.  Hudson Mathias and Logan Taylor made some good tackles, RTB found a gap and scored. 8-3.  The Dale restarted and again the passing was excellent, persistence paid off and Zac Tucker saw a gap and headed for the try line, 8-4.  RTB finished the game with a try, 9-4.
