Oakdale's second match of the day saw them face a well organised Risca team, who started the game well which required some good scramble defence from Oakdale, Risca almost went over in the cormer but a good tackle from Gethin Tudbull prevented them from taking an early lead.  Oakdale turned the ball over which led to a break from Ollie Penny to score the opening try of the match.

Oakdale were high in confidence and Gethin Tudbull got his hands on the ball and raced to the line to score the second try.

Risca responded quickly and scored their opening try of the match to get themselves back in the game.  However, after some superb passing and offloading by Oakdale Brayley Williams-Price dived over for Oakdales 3rd try.

Oakdale were hagain on the attack and Gethin Tudbull again made a break through the Risca defence to score his second try of the match and Oakdales 4th to keep the scorer busy.  

Some fine defence from Oakdale prevented Risca scoring and this pressure made off as Gethin Tudbull made his way over the line to score Oakdales 4th try, this was quickly followed by another from him.

Risca were not going to lie down and bravely fought back and were rewarded with a try just before half time to make the score 5-3.

The second half again saw Oakdale change their line up making sure everyone had a run out and again the fresh legs seemed to pay off as Tyler Symmons caught the Risca defence off guard to score in the corner.

Risca would not give up and began clawing their way back into the game putting pressure on Oakdale which saw them score two unanswered tries which set up the match for an exciting climax.

Oakdale made a good break and with some slick passing saw Jacob James score in the corner to make the final score Oakdale 7 - Risca 5.

It was a marvelous effort from both sides who really entertained the watching parents well done both teams.

At the end of the game man of the match was given to Joseph Bonnici for his defence and passing

Next up for Oakdale U8's sees them hitting the road to travel to Rhymney.
