Fixture

This morning the U10’s welcomed Ynysddu on a fine, dry morning.  Ynysddu won the toss and started the game.  The visitors were fired up and were attacking from the whistle, Jordan Way claimed the ball but couldn’t get away and was taken into touch.  Ynysddu took the possession back and opened the scoring, 0-1.  The Dale restarted and advanced up the field, a knock on gave the scrum to Ynysddu, the ball went loose and was picked up by Gabriel Jones, he passed to Oliver Cooke who had a weaving run up the pitch, the ball was passed to Dafydd Price to equalised in the corner, 1-1. 

Ynysddu responded with a try 1-2.  The Dale restarted with Oliver Cooke making good ground, he passed to Logan Taylor who passed onto Zac Tucker to claim the try, 2-2.  Ynysddu restarted but were driven into touch.  Thomas Gregory took the ball, he threw a wide pass that was intercepted by Ynysddu, Oakdale were caught off guard and Ynysddu scored, 2-3.  Possession passed back and fore until we saw excellent hands by Gabriel Jones to take the offload, he sprinted to the try line to score, 3-3.  Ynysddu restarted and the ball went loose, Thomas picked it up but wasn’t able to hold to it, a knock on gave the visitors a scrum. Ynysddu were not able to keep possession, the ball was picked up by Jordan who passed to Zac, he nipped through the defence to score, 4-3.

Half Time Oakdale 4 – Ynysddu 3

Dale started the second half and advanced to the try line, a hand off by Jordan the visitors the possession.  This possession was short lived with a knock on awarding Oakdale the scrum within yards of the try line.  Scrum half Logan passed to Zac who nipped around the defence to claim his hat trick, 5-3.  Oakdale kept the pressure on the visitors, Gabriel picked up a loose ball and passed to Logan Taylor, he used his speed to find the try line and score, 6-3. Ynysddu restarted and advanced into the 22, Oliver picked up a loose ball and kicked downfield to gain the hosts some ground, he chased the ball but wasn’t able to beat the Ynysddu defence, who came back to score a try, 6-4.  The game restarted with an excellent run by Dafydd Price he offloaded well to Thomas Gregory to claim the try, 7-4.  The visitors responded with another quick try. 7-5.  This time it was the Dale who scored quickly Hudson Mathias push through the defence, the ball was passed from the tackle to Thomas Gregory to score, 8-5.  Ynysddu had got within yards of the try line and were penalise for holding on, Oliver had an excellent run down field and almost reached the try line before being tackled, the ball went through a few more phases before Thomas scored the try, 9-5.   The Dale turned over the possession, James Williams had a good run and could have beaten the defender, he could see Thomas and Oliver is support and passed to Thomas to score, 10-5.  Excellent game of rugby by both sides this morning.
