Fixture

This morning the U10’s was at Penallta.  Due to illness we had 9 players so borrowed Callum from Penallta, he fitted in well and had a good game.  The hosts won the toss and started the game, they were quickly turned over and Thomas Gregory ran straight through the defence to secure the try and the conversion, 0-7.   The Dale were defending well, possession passed between the teams ending with a scrum to the Dale, Logan Taylor passed back to Oliver Cooke he side stepped a player but couldn’t reach the try line.  Logan Taylor offloaded well to Hudson Mathias and onto William Davey to cross the try line.  Oliver Cooke kicked the conversion, 0-14.  Penallta restarted but were driven into touch by Hudson Mathias, Logan broke through the defence and passed to Thomas Gregory to score, the try was unconverted, 0-19.  A knock on gave the Dale possession, Thomas Gregory took the ball and had an excellent run to score, the try was converted by Logan Taylor, 0-26.  Gabriel Jones intercepted the ball and headed up the field, he passed to Thomas Gregory who scored the try, again it was converted by Logan Taylor, 0-33.

First Quarter Penallta 0 – Oakdale 33

The Dale restarted the second quarter, the boys were passing well, the ball was passed from Logan to Hudson to William and onto Dafydd Price on the wing to cross the try line, the conversion was kicked by Oliver Cooke, 0-40.  A knock on gave the possession to the Dale, William Davey thought he had reached the try line but was held up, Penallta persevered and found a gap in the Dale defence to get themselves on the board, the try was successfully converted, 7-40.  The Dale was using the full width of the pitch and were passing through the team but were taken into touch. Penallta kicked the ball and it was chased down by Oliver and Dafydd, Penallta gained possession and sped to the try line, for a converted try, 14-40.  Dale restarted Zac Tucker gained ground and passed to Oliver Cooke, he had a good run but was taken into touch. 

Second Quarter Penallta 14 – Oakdale 40.

Penallta restarted the third quarter but were taken into touch.  Oliver kicked the ball, it was chased down by Zac and Dafydd.  Penallta picked up the ball, a knock on gave the scrum to the Dale, the ball was passed out of the scrum by Logan to Dafydd Price, he sped down the touch line to score.  The try was unconverted, 14 – 45. Scrum to the Dale saw the ball passed to Oliver, he had a good run before passing to Gabriel Jones to score the try and kick the conversion, 52-14.  Gabriel Jones picked up the ball from the tackle, he ran down the touch line but got caught and tackled into touch on the try line.  Logan Taylor took Penallta into touch to gain possession and allow Zac Tucker to have a good run and score and convert the try, 14-59.  Penallta advanced to the try line, Logan stole the ball and passed to Oliver, he kicked the ball which was chased by Hudson and William, Penallta continured to battle they picked up a loose ball and broke through the defence to score a converted try, 21-59.

Third Quarter Penallta 21 – Oakdale 59.

The boys were enjoying their morning of rugby and were all in agreement to play the last quarter.   The Dale started the last quarter with a try by Thomas Gregory which was converted by James Williams, 21-66.  Penallta restarted and were taken into touch by Callum, he’s not going to be popular with his team mates!  Oliver passed to William who was taken into touch.  Logan stole the ball, he passed to Hudson and onto Oliver who was taken into touch.  Penallta kicked the ball down the pitch, it was caught by Oliver he passed to Logan and onto Hudson, the ball ended with Gabriel Jones who was heading for the corner flag, Penallta came across and drove him into touch just on the try line.  The Dale regained possession and Thomas Gregory scored the try, Hudson Mathias took the conversion the ball hit the crossed bar and bounced over, 21-73. The Dale had the ball and again there was some lovely passing through the team, Dafydd Price was out on the wing to cross the try line, 21-78.
