On a cold chilly morning, the boys started off slowly and were punished early on with some flowing moves by RTB who sailed to a 2-0 lead. With the boys struggling it took a few excellant tags by Pacey and Josh to halt the large amount of possession that Ebbw Vale had. The boys started to get into the game and with the ball popping out to Joe he took on the defence to score in the corner with what was the only try of the game for Oakdale.

The second half started promisingly with some excellant handling by Gethin and Ollie and without the intervention of the ref, might have grabbed another try or two but with the strict rules in place it was a learning curve for the boys who will need to improve on their positioing and passing as they will look to bounce back in this week's game at St Albans.

With good support coming from both sides the game went into a third half and was probably our most productive as there was some excellent runs by Tyler and Joshua and some excellant tagging by Ruben. Ollie and Josh combined well throughout and hopefullty will take that into the next game with a few team mates back in the shape of Ioan, Brayley and William.

With the match finishing 6-1 to Ebbw, we will look at some encouraging signs that the boys showed with passing and supporting and hopefully progress in the weeks ahead.

At the end of the game, the 'Man of The Match' award went to Joe who along with his well taken try had some lovely passes and was always shouting words of encouragement to his team mates. Well deserved.
