Blackwood Darts League 2026/2027 Season – League Rules

  • The League shall consist of 2 x divisions – Division 1 and Division 2
  • Both divisions shall contain an equal number of sides where possible
  • The top 2 sides in Division 2 will be promoted to Division 1
  • The bottom 2 sides in Division 1 will be relegated to Division 2
  • Any new sides will automatically go into Division 1.
  • To keep both divisions equal, depending on the number of new sides it will be necessary to relegate an equal number of teams from Division 1 to keep both divisions equal in teams.
  • All entrance monies shall be divided equally between the two divisions
  • THE FOLLOWING RULES APPLY TO EACH DIVISION.

Match Format
Four games of doubles – 601 – Best of three legs
Four games of singles – 501 – Best of three legs
All Matches to start at 7:45 p.m. Prompt
Games in the order of Doubles then Singles

  • Any Player may only play Twice in Doubles and Once with Same Player.
  • Four players to be used in doubles if possible. Home side starts. Third Leg Bull Start
  • Any team cancelling will be fined £20.00 and 8 points will be awarded to the non-offending team.
  • A team may play with 3 players 2 points will be awarded to the Non offending team and the 6 points remaining shall consist of 3 games Pairs and 3 games of singles
  • A team may play with 2 players, but 5 points will be awarded to the non-offending team & the 3 points remaining shall consist of 1 game of pairs & 2 games of singles.
  • Entrance Fees
    • A one-off payment of £60.00. To be paid by first half of the season
    • A £10.00 Fine will be imposed on any team not paying on time.
    • A £5.00 Fine will be imposed on any team whose Delegate fails to attend a Meeting.
    • A £5.00 Fine will be imposed on any team who fails to inform the Secretary by the Monday following a game.
    • Either by Text, Phone or by handing in Result Cards.
  • Competitions
    • All knockout competitions £3.00 per player. Each side must enter 1 x 4s, 1 x 3s, 2 x pairs & 4 x singles for relevant competitions
    • All knockout competitions to be played at quarterly intervals, starting 4 with 4 a side then 3 a side, 2 a side and then singles.  
    • Four a side & 3 a side competition to be played down to last 2 teams, pairs to last 4 teams and singles down to last 8 players.
  • Finals Night
    • Starting times must be strictly adhered to. Any team arriving short of players for any competition will not be allowed to play & will FORFEIT ANY PRIZE MONEY.
    • Draw for Finals to be made on Finals Night.
    • All teams must be represented on Finals Night by at least 2 players to receive any remunerations from League.
    • Any player entered for any of the knockout competition must be paid for.
  • Games can only be cancelled by a directive from Chairman and Secretary.
  • All League games must be completed to qualify any team for any Remunerations from League.
  • All Registrations to be made in first half of season. Any player registered in another Friday Night League cannot register in Blackwood-League.
