1. There is a £40 entry fee required to be paid before the start of the season for all teams entering the league, new teams will also be required to pay a £20 good faith payment which will be returned to them on completion of all fixtures for the season. Mark fees of £40 required to be paid by all teams during any meeting throughout the season.
  2. If a team fails to send a delegate to league meetings fines incurred will be: £10 for first meeting missed, £20 for a second missed meeting and £30 fine for missing a third meeting. (£60 total for 3 missed meetings)
  3. Any new teams joining the league will be placed into the lowest division.
  4. The league is divided into 3 divisions, there will be prize money for the winner & runner up of each division. Promotion and relegation between divisions will be determined by the committee as required to keep divisions as equal in numbers as possible.
  5. If a team drops out of the league for whatever reason at any point during the season and they pay up all monies owed to that point the players from that team will be free to transfer to another team or join a team for the following season. If the team exit the league with monies owed all players of that team will be banned from the league for 1 year and only allowed to re-enter the league after the ban if they pay their agreed share of the debt up front. All points will be deducted for games that had been played.
  6. Teams must enter each players full name and signature on the scorecard of their first game for the team during any given season to register them as a player. (No nicknames)
  7. A player can only transfer between teams during a season if they a) have the consent of both captains, b) informed a member of the committee in advance, c) paid a £2 transfer fee prior to playing for the new team.
  8. It is expected that at least a rest will be provided at every venue.
  9. All league matches and competitions are played to standard Blackball rules. See separate rule sheet.
  10. Each frame is worth 1 point and a bonus point will be awarded for away wins.
  11. The format for league and KO Cup matches is 1st set of 4 singles, 2nd set of 3 singles and 3rd set of 2 doubles. A player can only play once in each set, and players are not allowed to play frame 4 and 5 in succession. (Please note that if a player plays 2 frames of singles only the first frame will count towards most wins statistics)
  12. Most wins final will be the division 1 highest stats player versus the division 2 highest stats player. This will be played at 6pm on presentation night. If a player is not available to attend the 2nd placed player will be called upon to participate, the 2 players in the singles final will not be considered for the most wins match.
  13. All match and competition doubles are Scots double rules (alternate shots) and talking is allowed. A 1 minute shot clock will be used and the ref/timer must give warning when 10 seconds remain, a foul will be awarded if the shot is not played within time. A foul can also be awarded for team mates coaching from the sidelines during frames.
  14. If an opposing team only has less than 7 players you can choose to use the same number of players as them for singles frames if you so wish. It is not permissible to drop players in attendance for singles and use other players twice if you have enough available to match the players used by the opposition. (If you have a player in attendance not able to play e.g. injury make opposing captain aware before the game.)
  15. The home team writes the players down on the team sheet first for league matches, away team writes down second. NOTE: For all competitions and KO Cup separate sheets are to be used where necessary then matched up on the main/official sheet.
  16. Break is determined by a lag in the first frame, it is alternating breaks thereafter. It is the responsibility the team breaking referee that frame.
  17. Cancellation of a match on the day will incur a £20 fine. If the food has been bought or travel has commenced £20 goes to the non-offending team, if travel/food has not commenced the £20 will be paid to the league and added to the prize fund.
  18. League and KO Cup games are to start at 8 o’clock. Singles, doubles and trebles competitions to start at 7.30.
  19. Results and scorecards must be sent in via the Facebook results page by midday on the Thursday or a £4 late fee fine will be incurred for league matches, or £2 fine for competitions. It is the responsibility of the home team to send league match results, and responsibility of the winner to send in competition results (Including KO Cup/Plate)
  20. If the A and B teams of a venue are both drawn at home for the KO Cup the team drawn first will be home the other side will reverse the fixture.
  21. Teams losing in the 1st round of the KO Cup will be placed into the KO Plate competition. Losers of any required preliminary round matches will not be entered into the Plate competition, therefore these teams will be exempt from the preliminary round draw for the following season. Division 1 teams will give a point head start when playing Div.2/3 sides in the KO Plate competition.
  22. Singles, doubles and trebles entry is £2 per registered player.
  23. There will be a singles plate tournament with the same rules as KO Cup/Plate draws, no shows/cancelling players for Round 1 will not be entered into plate competition.
  24. A player must have played at least 50% of league matches by the end of the season to remain eligible for competition entries.
  25. Players can only enter competitions with other players from their own team for doubles & trebles.
  26. In early stages of competitions all venues will be considered for use. In the latter stages of a competition the committee will use neutral venues with tables/playing area of required standard.
  27. Trebles competition is to be played at the Red Triangle on one night. Opponents of any Red Triangle entered team will be given choice of table to be used. Format for the trebles competition will be 3 singles frames followed by 2 frames of trebles.
  28. If a player does not inform the secretary that they cannot attend a competition a £5 fine will be incurred. This fine will be used to reimburse the non-offending player towards transport. You must inform the secretary before 5pm that day not to incur the fine.
  29. A 6 red shoot out competition will be held on presentation night, each team can enter one player into this competition.
